Labcorp IT Sr. Technical Specialist in South San Francisco, California

Labcorp is seeking a IT Sr. Technical Specialist to join our innovative software engineering team. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and team-oriented, working as part of a collaborative team, capable of independent and creative problem-solving, and demonstrate exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop web applications to support Labcorp Lab systems commercial and operational infrastructure

  • Design and implementsoftwaresolutions for managing test ordering and workflow traceability across multiple systems and micro services.

  • Develop and enhance ETL pipelines for tracking external datasets and combining with our internal data and systems.

  • Integrate closely with the lab, automation teams to deliver fast and high-quality clinical results (at a large scale) to our patients.

  • Proactively identify areas of improvement and engage in building solutions for improving our codebase

  • Be a team player by engaging in pair programming and actively participating in group discussions and code reviews

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • MSc/BSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of industry experience working with softwaredevelopment with Java

  • 3+ years of industry experience in Spring Framework, Hibernate, Spring Cloud

  • Experience with micro services and service-oriented architectures. Experience with AWS Lambda is a plus

  • Experience with RDBMS such as MySQL, Oracle and SQL Server

  • Experience with NOSQL such as DynamoDB, Cassandra and MongoDB

  • Experience with messaging services such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, Amazon Kinesis

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a must. Including AWS SQS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, VPC etc.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Stack (SSIS, SSRS etc.) is a plus

  • Experience with Healthcare billing knowledge is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skill. Includes verbal and writing skill

Desired:

  • Experience with health applications development and/or working in a healthcare environment

  • Experience working in an FDA, CLIA, or related regulatory environment

  • Experience with test driven development and continuous integration

  • Experience with Docker and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, AWS CDK etc.)
