Labcorp Lab Assistant for Histology in Seattle, Washington

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Initial training times will likely differ from the routine schedule.

Site Location: 550 17th Ave.

LabCorp seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Seattle, WA. In this position, you will be responsible for the receiving and processing laboratory specimens and requisitions. You will enter requisitions data into the database, label, centrifuge, and aliquot all specimens. You will assist in training lab assistant staff. You will act in the best interest of patient care and LabCorp.

  • Receiving and processing laboratory specimens and requisitions.

  • Enter requisitions data into the database, label, centrifuge, and aliquot all specimens.

  • Assist in training lab assistant staff.

  • Act in the best interest of patient care and LabCorp.

  • Answer phones, emails, receive and send faxes, log data into Excel spreadsheets, Tumor Board assistance

  • Communicate with doctors, clients, and the lab, call for not sites designated, case assembly, and other duties as needed.

  • Assist the Histology Department as directed by the Histology Supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, some college science helpful.

  • Excellent communication skills necessary to deal effectively with co-workers, clients, and hospital staff.

  • A willingness to work in fast paced, high volume laboratory. Data entry skills are necessary.
