MedTox Forensic Support Services team is seeking a Forensic Support Services Supervisor for the specimen processing area. The Forensic Support Supervisor oversees one or more areas including the tasks of specimen receiving, specimen preparation, and specimen storage.
Responsible for routine supervisory tasks such as overseeing workflow, attendance tracking, disciplinary actions, production and quality metric tracking, performance appraisals and time off authorizations with guidance from manager.
Perform duties of all roles supervised as necessary (e.g. if short-staffed or fluctuations in volume occur); organize work to maintain efficiency and acceptable turn-around-time.
Review, write and adhere to SOP's and ensure that others are in adherence; troubleshoot as needed and act as a point of escalation.
Complete all documentation accurately and neatly according to requirements; monitor the work of employees to ensure completeness and acceptability.
Working closely and positively with other support services supervisors to achieve deadlines and goals.
Train employees as needed.
Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite work flow.
Work with manager to determine staffing needs of the department.
Interact and coordinate with interdependent areas; maintain open communication between shifts and other sections of the laboratory regarding specimens and test requests.
Lead by example and promote a strong sense of teamwork.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
Three to five years of related experience.
Previous experience acting in a lead/senior role.
Intermediate or above skills in Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated proficiency in and leadership aptitude for specific areas of responsibility.
Strong interpersonal and listening skills; able to work with other departments internally and clients externally, communicating in an effective and timely manner.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to multi-task; strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Education and Experience:
One to three years of previous supervisory experience.
Laboratory Information System experience.
Production and/or lean manufacturing experience.
Tuesday- Friday 6 AM-2:30 PM; Saturday 8 AM- 4 30 PM
