Laboratory Corporation of America Molecular Extractions Technologist in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

The Integrated Oncology and Integrated Genetics divisions of LabCorp are seeking a Molecular Extractions Technologist to join their Molecular Central Extractions team! The Molecular Central Extractions department supports testing performed in the Molecular Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Oncology, and Clinical Trials departments.


  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.

  • Perform a variety of manual and automated DNA/RNA isolations in preparation of PCR-based molecular testing for a variety of genetic conditions, including cancer.

  • Utilize a wide array of instrumentation, including Tecan and Chemagen instruments, performing quality control and calibrations, as required.

  • Recognize problems and initiate troubleshooting steps to evaluate testing failures and other problems.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • B.A./B.S. in Biology or relatable life science to include completion of 16 credit hours of Biology, 16 credit hours of Chemistry, and 3 credit hours of math.

  • Previous experience with performing manual and / or automated nucleic acid isolations is preferred, but not required.

  • 1 year of clinical OR research lab experience preferred, but not required.




2nd Shift Tuesday-Saturday 3:00pm-11:30pm
