Laboratory Corporation of America Laboratory Support Services Data Analyst in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

The Center for Molecular Biology and Pathology (CMBP) division of LabCorp, focused on specialized Oncology and Genetic testing, has an exciting job opening for a Lab Support Data Analyst in RTP, NC. This position will analyze data from a variety of sources and work with leadership teams and staff members to optimize performance. This position will also create miscellaneous reports that may be related to Workforce Management data.

The Data Analyst will be responsible for using data independently to detect potential areas for improvement and collaborate skillfully with leadership to present and evaluate potential improvements. The ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter and have experience analyzing and presenting data from multiple sources and multiple formats. Advanced Excel skills are required.

The routine shift for the position will be Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00pm. Infrequent travel will also be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate new tests and test changes, including LCLS worksheet maintenance and LLS test set up

  • Work directly with the laboratory directors and management to gather and understand the needs and configuration for CMBP test creation, modification and daily review of all projects

  • Gather and complete the daily CMBP volume reports - this includes pulling in data from various systems, analyzing data and distributing the final report

  • Work on a peer level with the Supervisors and Managers within the facility and share responsibility and accountability for new / change test requests

  • Coordinate client custom profile requests working directly with the CMBP test Discipline Directors for approval and LIS set up

  • Support the Specimen Management and Lab Support teams by completing various other data reports including the productivity dashboards, creation of and monitoring of metric reporting

  • Review and perform data analytics utilizing Verint supporting the Accessioning teams

  • Support the facility by pulling data mart reports from the Business Objects system and work with IT to design new reports required

Requirements

  • Associates degree

  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience

  • Strong computer skills. Advanced experience with Word and Excel

  • Ability to create graphs, formulas, and pivot tables in Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Familiarity with LabCorp LIS Systems preferred
