Laboratory Corporation of America Cytogenetic Technologist Trainee in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina
The Integrated Oncology Division of LabCorp is seeking a Cytogenetic Technologist Trainee to join their team! FISH technologists independently perform laboratory tasks designed to diagnose chromosomal abnormalities from patient specimens which includes:
Performing harvesting of cells
Probing of slides from reproductive and oncology specimen types
Perform analysis of fluorescent slides, which includes imaging
Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis as needed
Summarizes test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
Provide significant support activities such as assisting with the evaluation of new protocol or tests, maintaining clinical and internal documentation files, and other duties as assigned.
Additional duties as assigned.

Requires a B.A./B.S. in Biology, Cytogenetics, Clinical Lab Sciences or relatable life science to include completion of 16 credit hours of Biology, 16 credit hours of Chemistry, and 3 credit hours of math.
2nd Shift Wednesday-Saturday 2:00pm - 12:30am.
