Labcorp Quality Manager-Clinical and Anatomic Pathology in Raleigh, North Carolina

Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for the Quality programs, systems, processes and procedures and that the performance and quality of services conform to established regulatory and accreditation requirements within the assigned laboratory or geographic region. Leads the internal and external audit program and resolution of audit and inspection findings; manages the internal and external proficiency testing program, manages the nonconforming event program and facilities continuous improvement. Oversees compliance with CLIA, CAP, ISO 15189 and other regulatory and accreditation requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote a culture of quality

  • Partner with laboratory leadership to develop quality goals and objectives.

  • Develop positive and supportive working relationships with laboratory management in the assigned areas.

  • Ensure all laboratories within the assigned areas maintain current federal, state and local licensure and accreditations, as applicable. Maintaining a regulatory readiness at all times.

  • Provide guidance for laboratories in implementing policies with respect to regulatory and accreditation requirements.

  • Audit laboratories to identify quality issues, nonconformities and opportunities for improvement.

  • Oversight of proficient testing program.

  • Formulate responses to accreditation and regulatory citations, nonconforming events and complaints.

  • Monitor outcomes of root cause analysis, corrective action and effectiveness checks.

  • Facilitate process improvement activities.

  • Prepare and lead monthly Quality Meetings and records accurate minutes to communicate site progress as measured by Key Performance Indicators.

  • Collect summary data for management reports regarding quality indicators, internal and external audit outcomes, and complaints.

  • Participate and/or lead in Quality meetings, Improvement teams and Regulatory initiatives

  • Provide and ensure training for LabCorp quality policies and procedures.

  • Maintain and coordinate communications between laboratories in the assigned areas, provide assistance where indicated on quality related issues.

  • Provide excellent communication with the Divisional Quality Director.

  • Other job duties as applicable.

Requirements

License/Certification/Education: Normally a B.A./B.S. in Biology w/4-5 years of Clinical Laboratory experience.

Preferred Skills

  • ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology) Certification

  • Degree Concentrations: Medical Technology and Clinical Laboratory Sciences

M-F; 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Notes: Regional responsibilities will likely include the following state(s): NC, VA, SC, GA and segment of TN. Strongly prefer candidates from NC and VA Work location: Applicant may work onsite at either a Patient Service Center or Lab in their residential state. When permissible, travel up to 75% to regional site location(s) based on business need(s) Overnight travel: 25 - 40%
