Integrated Oncology, a division of LabCorp, has an immediate opening for a Cytogenetics Director in Phoenix, AZ. Integrated Oncology is a national specialty reference laboratory providing state-of-the-art diagnostic oncology services. We provide a comprehensive cancer-testing center in which cytogeneticists and molecular geneticists work closely with pathologists, flow cytometry analysts and immunohistochemistry histologists to provide high quality oncology testing services. ABMGG Board-certified Clinical Cytogenetics directors or Active Candidates (board eligible) are encouraged to apply.
The Cytogenetics Director will be responsible for the management of technical and scientific operation within an assigned clinical Cytogenetics and FISH Laboratory department, including accurate reporting of patient results, case review, and reviewing validation data.
Review, interpret, and report patient results reliably, accurately, and with integrity
Sign out Cytogenetics/FISH reports on a daily basis
Provide consultation to healthcare professionals and clients regarding test utilization and test interpretation
Responsible for scientific and technical direction of the laboratories
Consult with senior directors and/or medical director to identify, investigate and explore the need for new assay development, equipment and processes; and to find ways to enhance business performance and opportunities with an awareness of the cost/benefits
Solve technical issues
Review QA/QC or other performance parameters of the laboratories
Oversee laboratories compliance with with State, Federal, CAP and CLIA regulatory requirements
Ensure that laboratories adhere to the compliance policies set forth by the Company and by both governmental and non-governmental agencies
Set efficiency standards for the laboratories to ensure the turnaround time objectives are met
Proactively train staff on procedures and processes
Ph. D. or M.D. in a biological, chemical or physical science
ABMGG board certified in Cytogenetics or LGG (Laboratory Genetics and Genomics) or Active Candidate Status (board eligible) required
Additional board certification in Molecular Genetics is a plus
Must meet all CLIA regulatory requirements
Holder or eligible for NYS COQ license is preferred
