  • Prepares laboratory specimens for designated departments/locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing.

  • Unpacks specimens from branches or ports and routes specimens by type to various staging areas.

  • Prepares all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments or locations such as staging of specimens, centrifuge, separate serum, and blood smears. Aliquots sample for departments.

  • Prepares excess specimen samples for storage and resolves and document problem specimens.

At the end of the application process there is a 5 minute timed data entry test. This test must be completed to be considered for this position. This must be taken on a computer or a laptop. It CANNOT be taken on a smart phone or tablet. I recommend you use a computer that has a 10-key pad.*

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1-2 years of experience.

  • Strong Attention to Detail

  • Fast and accurate Data Entry Skills

  • Prior production/repetitive type of work experience

  • Prior medical experience/knowledge of medical terminology preferred

  • Ability to work independently within a team environment

  • Ability to focus on tedious tasks for long periods of time

  • Ability to work mandatory overtime (averages 5 hours a week) as required.
