Laboratory Corporation of America Project Specialist in McLeansville, North Carolina

Job Responsibilities:

  • Initiate standard projects and reports based on defined SOPs and scrubs.

  • Understand trends within projects and question/communicate when volumes are out of norm.

  • Create scorecard to track project volumes for trending purposes.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities for assigned projects.

  • Collaborate with denial category owners on process improvement opportunities.

  • Complete all assigned projects within established time frames.

  • HIgh School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum 2+ years processing third party denial claims

  • Analytical skills demonstrated by ability to find trends and abnormalities in their environment.

  • Ability to recommend solutions for processing denials to the supervisor.

  • Should be detail oriented and pay close attention to details. Alerting the department management of any unusual trends they encounter.

  • Ability to problem solve demonstrated by examples in previous work experience where they identified a problem and did due diligence to solve the problem.

  • Ability to work well with others and not create conflict; internal and external customers.

  • Adaptability: Should feel comfortable with a changing environment such as changing duties, priorities, and SOP's.

  • Knowledge of department DSO, Bad Debt, and Cash Goals.

  • Proficient in alpha/numeric typing.

  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel and Access software to create and edit spreadsheets and documents

Preferred skills

  • Associate's degree

  • Prefer previous medical billing experience, or receivables experience.

  • Advanced MS Excel and Access software skills
