CA-Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist

LabCorp, is actively hiring qualified scientific and laboratory operations staff to support growth expansion in our genomics laboratories

Due to our rapid growth, we are looking to hire CA-Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientists to join our Genomics team in Los Angeles, CA.

Our laboratories perform genome-wide and targeted genetic analysis services for 23andMe utilizing state-of-the-art technology, including DNA extraction, amplification and running assays using robotic instrumentation. In this role, you will directly help patients learn about their ancestry and understand their genetic health risks and carrier status through 23andMe's Health and Ancestry services.

  • Multiple schedules are available, some including weekends.

  • Shift differentials offered for 2nd and 3rd shifts

  • Receive, stage and aliquot saliva specimens for testing

  • Perform genotyping to detect clinically relevant variants in the genomic DNA of adults

  • Work within a high volume laboratory as part of a dedicated team to ensure patient results are reported within an acceptable turn-around-time

  • Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation; perform scheduled and as needed maintenance and critical function checks recognizing significant changes in instrument function; trouble shoot as indicated.

  • Perform required QC/QA duties including: following quality control rules; monitor controls for error detection and take corrective action; maintain laboratory records, maintenance logs, quality control charts, reagent and standard logs, and worksheets.



  • Must be a Certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist (CGMBS)

  • Certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) candidiates are highly preferred

  • Must be able to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Perform work with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail, as part of a CAP-accredited and CLIA-certified laboratory

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory a plus
