Laboratory Corporation of America Administrative Assistant in Itasca, Illinois

LabCorp is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the branch and lab operations at our Itasca, IL location.

Hours are Monday-Friday 8AM-5:00PM

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Lab Operations Management team

  • Assist with emails and maintain and manage calendars

  • Schedule internal and external meetings and coordinate conference rooms

  • Schedule and set up Webex, conference calls

  • Work with internal and external contacts on a day-to-day basis

  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations and Excel documents, letters, and contracts

  • Support internal and external meetings. Prepare agendas, record, compile, transcribe, and distribute minutes of meetings

  • Screen incoming calls and correspondence and respond independently, as appropriate

  • Order, organize, and maintain office supplies

  • Prepare conference rooms, manage catering orders

  • Coordinate travel arrangements

  • General clerical duties including filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, mailing

  • Plan and organize site meeting and events

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 3 years administrative assistant experience

  • Previous experience in the life science field desired

  • Proven experience with travel coordination and management. Experience with Concur or similar online travel tool highly desired

  • Strong knowledge and experience with MS office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Previous experience with Outlook, managing multiple calendars across different time zones required

  • Previous experience using Webex, Skype, and conference calls required

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills, and organizational skills

  • Superior proofreading and editing skills to ensure accuracy and correct grammatical content of documents
