Colorado Coagulation, part of LabCorp Specialty Testing Group is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician to join their Molecular Diagnostics team in Englewood, CO! The Extraction Technician will be responsible for extracting DNA from two main sample types (whole blood & buccal swab) for molecular genetics testing. A variety of molecular genetics techniques are used to identify coagulation risk factors.

This schedule for this position will be third shift, Tuesday -- Saturday, 10:00PM to 6:30AM.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive patient samples into the department for extractions

  • Perform automated and manual DNA extractions from patient samples

  • Maintain internal documentation for all steps of the processes as outlined in SOPs

  • Troubleshoot assays and reagent qualification issues

  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts

  • Coordinate work assignments and be able to prioritize independently

  • Participate in a team approach to workflow management of the lab

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline

  • Previous experience working in a clinical lab setting preferred, but not required

  • Strong understanding of molecular genetics and general chemistry

  • Previous molecular biology lab experience highly preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail with an understanding of laboratory practices

  • Strong time-management skills
