Labcorp Director of Corporate Strategy in Durham, North Carolina

Overview :

Reporting to the Enterprise Head of Strategy, the Director of Corporate Strategy will work closely with senior management and key stakeholders to build out the enterprise growth strategy for Labcorp.

What the job entails:

  • Work with senior leadership throughout enterprise to develop and communicate enterprise strategy and goals for near, medium, and longer time horizons

  • Work with teams in both business segments to develop segment strategy to meet enterprise goals and to communicate strategy throughout organization

  • Execute Strategy projects with direction and oversight from Head of Strategy

  • Interact with and make presentations to senior leaders with oversight from Head of Strategy

  • Serve as coach & mentor for new team members of the Leadership Development Program during their rotation through Corporate Strategy

  • Work closely with M&A team to serve as Strategy lead for key strategic enterprise acquisitions

  • Develop intellectual leadership on key enterprise threats and opportunities working closely with Head of Strategy and others in business

  • Identify and evaluate additional opportunities for profitable enterprise growth within and outside current businesses

  • Develop metrics to evaluate and track success of enterprise and segment strategy over time

  • Work to embed strategic mindset and culture throughout organization

  • This position can be based at our office in Durham, NC, but we are also open to remote working options.


What your resume shows:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related scientific field from a leading university; MBA or relevant healthcare graduate preferred but not required

  • 8 -- 10 years of experience in healthcare or related field

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant business strategy experience preferred (e.g., management consulting experience, strategy or operations role for Fortune 500 company, etc.) ...

  • ...or exceptional performance in Labcorp's Leadership Development Program (LDP)

What it takes to succeed:

  • Ability to frame and structure complex problems and identify and collect relevant data

  • Ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative analysis and generate first order insights for the enterprise with some oversight from Head of Strategy

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills and executive presence; emerging ability to develop logical storylines/presentations independently

  • Ability to execute project end to end from concept to output with some oversight from Head of Strategy

  • Proficiency at prioritizing tasks and generating high quality output; able to iterate with Head of Strategy to reach strong output

  • Coaching and mentoring skills to help train members of Leadership Development Program and develop Strategy muscle throughout organization

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal or external teams to drive solutions

  • Tenacity, creativity, and perseverance to deliver solutions effectively

  • Comfort with ambiguity, self-motivation, and passion to excel




Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
