LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our team in Dublin, OH. In this position, you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives" as we combat the COVID-19 pandemic. LabCorp was the first national laboratory to launch molecular testing for the virus that causes COVID-19 and we have performed over 30 million PCR tests to date.
This position will focus primarily on supervisoring the COVID-19 PCR testing in the Molecular department of our Clinical Laboratory, where the Technologists perform both automated and manual testing with the overall goal of providing results that will be used for the diagnosis and management of COVID-19. Ultimately, these test results will be studied to better understand the virus in hopes of developing better treatments, and a future vaccine.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Supervise the day to day operations of the department
Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner
Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel
Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage
Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
Research and resolve any production errors and escalating when necessary
Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
Perform administrative duties as needed
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a Science related major
Technical experience in a clinical laboratory; 5 years is preferred
Previous leadership experience is required
ASCP and/or AMT Certifications are a plus
Familiarity with Molecular Lab Platforms such as Roche or Hologic
Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
