LabCorp is seeking a Strategic Director -- Core Lab IT Business Partner for it's Burlington, NC location. Incumbent will act as the IT Business Partner for Core Laboratories that works closely with senior business leaders across several business units that span LabCorp Diagnostics areas including the core divisions (Atlantic, Florida, Mid America, Northeast, North Central, West) and Corporate Operations (PSC/IOPs, Customer Service, Core Lab Operations, Couriers, Core Sales). The Strategic Director -- Core Lab IT Business Partner will understand each business function's strategy and provide technology guidance to accomplish business objectives. The incumbent is accountable for the IT relationship with assigned senior business leaders/departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as IT Business Partner for senior business executives for all their IT needs

  • Create business roadmaps partnered with senior business leaders that incorporates business strategy and objectives, a technology strategy, and a 3 to 5 year roadmap

  • Communicate the business strategy/objectives, plans and priorities to the IT division, and influence the IT delivery organization(s) to plan and provide requisite support

  • Coach business leaders and enable them to articulate technology needs and requirements that will advance business performance, rather than being a "cheerleader" for IT

  • Identify and propose approaches to meet business needs, and lead the demand side of IT governance on behalf of the business. Able to articulate business performance benefits, identify how to measure them, then ensure business expectations are met

  • Inform and influence the business so that it understands, supports and adequately funds projects that are in convert with IT goals, such as enterprise architecture and product/system strategy

  • Notify the business of IT plans and changes, and their impact on business performance or plans

  • Lead the planning processes and produce regular reports depicting the business value of projects and system/products

  • Drive issue problem diagnosis, option generation and resolution management

  • Prepare and effectively deliver presentations to enable decision makers to make informed business decisions

  • Understand the overall financials surrounding IT activities performed for their business areas and ensure the overall costs remain effective and consistent with the motivating business drivers

  • Actively contribute to business strategic planning activities

  • Actively contribute to IT strategic planning activities

  • Coach and mentor junior team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (required)

  • 5-10 years practical experience in a Business Facing role (required)

  • 5-10 years practical experience in an IT organization (required)

  • Health care experience (highly desirable)

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills (required)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (required)

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic, a self-starter (required)
