Labcorp is recruiting a Sr Software Engineer for a dynamic team in either Burlington or RTP, NC.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical skills to develop software solutions managing Labcorp core business functions. You will work collaboratively with local and remote engineers, ensuring high quality and forward thinking engineering practices are applied.
The ideal candidate will be a strong full stack engineer, capable of providing solutions for middle-tier and front end portions of the stack. The candidate must be able to work closely with other engineers to build solution consensus as well as diagnose reported defects. The candidate will be afforded to work in a fast-paced environment and have a significant influence in design decisions. The candidate must be able to learn new technologies and techniques readily and provide leadership in adopting them. The candidate must be an excellent communicator capable of working with both peer engineers and users.
Diagnose, debug and remedy defects
Develop new features and integrate into existing architecture
Participate in the full development cycle from system inception through release
Automate testing at multiple levels (Unit, System, Integration, ...)
Work with the user community to understand system requirements and identify solutions
Ensure that safety and security are built into the system design
Understand and comply with all development regulations and audit obligations
Maintain an understanding of current industry trends and leverage to drive positive change
License/Certification/Education: Preferred B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline, with 5-10 years experience in software development.
A passion for building high quality software at speed
Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in software development
Good knowledge of industry best practices and trends in the application integration and development spaces
Excellent organization and communication skills
Experience building and consuming REST-based services
Experience applying Test Driven Development
Thrives working in an agile environment
Practical experience in the application of the SOLID principles
Experience with Domain Driven Design
Experience with the Spring suite
Experience with Java/JEE
Exposure to a UI Framework - Angular or React.
Experience with Angular w/ TypeScript
Expertise in writing JUnit test cases using mock frameworks as well as Integration Testing features in Spring Boot
Experience in concurrent programming (multi-threaded and distributed)
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
