Laboratory Corporation of America Senior Storage/Backup Administrator in Burlington, North Carolina

LabCorp is looking for a Senior Storage/Backup Administrator for its Burlington or RTP Location.

Summary:

As a member of the Enterprise Storage team, the Senior Technical Specialist is responsible for administration of a large environment of approximately 30 PB of mostly EMC storage. This team also has responsibility for providing daily backups (Veritas Netbackup) of approximately 3,000 servers (i.e. Linux, UNIX, Windows, and VMware).

Responsibilities Include:

Lead role in the coordination, design, deployment, and expansion of enterprise storage environment

Ensures continuous integrity, availability, and performance of storage infrastructure

Tracks current utilization of all storage infrastructure assets

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with user community, managers, and vendors.

Requirements

Requirements:

License/Certification/Education: Normally requires a B.S. Degree in Computer Science with 10 years of experience in related field.

Qualification/Skills Include:

Minimum 3 years' experience working in EMC environment (Symmetrix, Isilon, Data Domain, ECS, etc.)

Minimum 3 years' experience with large fiber-channel SAN environments (Cisco preferred)

Minimum 3 years' experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Experience with large-scale data replication projects and SRDF replication is desired

Experience planning, implementing, and testing Disaster Recovery strategies is desired

Knowledge of Backup and Recovery practices and procedures (Veritas Netbackup preferred)

Knowledge of change control practices and procedures

Knowledge of Disaster Recovery concepts and practices

Knowledge of data communications and networking concepts

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent decision making and troubleshooting skills

Excellent project management and organizational skills

Excellent customer satisfaction skills
