Laboratory Corporation of America Programmer / Analyst in Burlington, North Carolina

Web applications and web service development, platform development, automation, and coaching/mentoring of teams adopting the platforms. Deal with complex business integrations, eliciting requirements, and implementing secure and high-performance services consumed by various devices and applications across the organization. Drive the evolution of solutions and ensure that internal and external clients' software requirements are met. Develop complex RESTful webservices in a cross-functional and agile development team. Contribute to the SOA standards for the company. Follow best practices for test-driven development (unit testing and beyond). Design functional/system integration tests and automation. Collaborate with Business Analyst on product requirements analysis. Perform code and design reviews with peers. Conduct complex impact analysis. Contribute complex application architecture. Contribute complex technical alternatives.


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or foreign equivalent plus five (5) years of experience as a Product Development Engineer or Consultant. Position also requires five (5) years of experience in each of the following skills: Spring, Hibernate, Maven, and JDBC; Web service technologies - JAX-RS, JSON, JAXB, JAX-WS, and WSDL; RDBMS SQL (e.g. DB2, Oracle); and Junit, Unit Testing Mocking Framework (e.g. Mockito), Logging framework (e.g. Log4j). Position requires three (3) years of experience in each of the following skills: JEE compliant application servers and Test-driven development and continuous integration. Position requires one (1) year of experience in each of the following skills: Java (7+) enterprise development and Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
