Labcorp Laboratory Technical Project Specialist in Burlington, North Carolina
LabCorp is seeking a Quality-driven Technologist to join our Histology team in Burlington, NC! This position will support activities related to quality management, quality control, quality improvement, and quality related training. This position will have 1st shift hours from 8:30am- 5:00pm Monday -- Friday, and occasional weekends depending on workload.
Performs research and evaluation of complex projects and assignments requiring advanced knowledge and experience to identify and measure process methodologies, financial implications, and/or technical applications.
Makes recommendations to management and may initiate implementation of new protocols, methodologies, equipment, and processes.
This classification is cross functional, and may be utilized within all business fields including, but not limited to, operations, finance, laboratory, technical, sales, and administration.
Evaluate specimens and test orders, determine priority of work to maintain acceptable turn-around-time, recognize unacceptable and unusual specimens and handle appropriately.
Perform routine and moderate to complex tests and analyses according to established procedures in designated technical department.
Perform testing on biological, quality control, and proficiency samples.
Perform, and/or review and approve calibrations, parallel reagent checks, AMR validation, instrument to instrument comparison studies, and carry-over studies.
Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy, recognize and correct errors and unusual results, interpret results to produce a final report.
Manage the movement of materials/samples that are being processed.
Have the ability to cross train on multiple assays.
Have the ability to create an effective work flow with effective time management.
Participate in departmental quality reviews.
Performs administrative support duties, as assigned (maintaining records, maintaining databases, entering data, answering phones, filing, etc.)
Other duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor degree in Clinical Laboratory Science + 6 years of acceptable clinical laboratory experience
Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Sciences + 6 years of acceptable clinical laboratory experience
6 years of acceptable clinical laboratory experience PLUS a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in another field with the inclusion of: 16 credits in biological sciences, 16 credits in chemical sciences (chemistry and organic chemistry), 1 course in college level mathematics.
Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
