LabCorp is seeking a IT Technical Specialist for it's Burlington, RTP/ Durham NC location. This position will be responsible for the design, implementation, integration and administration of systems tools supporting IT Asset Management, Configuration Management, discovery and software compliance. Candidate will analyze, evaluate, modify, configure, test and assist with implementing enterprise-wide commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems that may include system upgrades, enhancements or maintenance. Individual understands content, processes, and procedures associated with implementing enterprise applications. This individual will also ensure that the main repositories of data for hardware and software are reconciled against multiple discovery sources to ensure accuracy and completeness. The Senior IT Specialist will write functional requirements, develop test plans, work with vendors and production support to address production issues/upgrades. Candidate will identify and develop opportunities where robotic process automation (RPA) can be introduced to optimize cost and process accuracy.
Essential Job Functions:
Design, develop, test, implement, and administer new ITAM software and enhancements of existing applications.
Perform system integrations/consolidations as needed/warranted.
Develop and maintain system and procedure documentation.
Use system monitoring tools and processes to allow proactive maintenance and support of the systems.
Regularly monitor system & network capacities and implement/improve capacity planning methods and processes.
Work closely with end-users to troubleshoot questions and concerns.
Provide systems knowledge sharing and support where needed.
PS: Candidate can work from RTP, Durham, if preferred.
License/Certification/Education: Normally requires a B.S. Degree in Computer Science w/5-7 years of experience.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, research, and possess the ability to learn quickly and adjust to technology changes.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and documentation skills.
Solid background in computer programming in Web and object oriented programming.
Knowledge and experience deploying applications using relational databases, ideally Microsoft SQL.
Detail oriented, self-motivated, problem solver.
Strong Technical Writing Skills, Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Knowing when and how to escalate issues.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience within
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
5+ years' experience as a Systems Developer, Administrator or Engineer in the area of IT Asset Management and/or Software Compliance.
Strong understanding and working experience installing and configuring software.
Experience with IT Asset Management tools and technologies (Flexera, ServiceNow, HP, BMC Remedy, IBM LMT /BigFix).
Experience with Discovery tool (e.g. BMC ADDM, JDisc, Microsoft SCCM, Lansweeper).
Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) specific tools (e.g. Flexera FlexNet, Aspera, SNOW Software).
Experience with PeopleSoft, LogMein Central and Splunk a plus.
Experience with Citrix, VMWare and virtualization (RVtools) a plus.
Technical skills must include an understanding of basic scripting methods.
