LabCorp is seeking a IT Sr. Technical Specialist for it's Burlington, NC location. This position is a Unisys System Engineer. This is a Senior-level role; capable of operating autonomously on many infrastructure deployment and maintenance activities. Assist with build out of infrastructure by gathering information, performing analysis, and eliciting the details of user requirements in discussion with users. Complete design, documentation, process development, testing and debugging tasks working within a team. Support Infrastructure and associated software by fixing problems and tuning performance and making enhancements. Develop and implement infrastructure optimization projects and solutions, including enhancement and upgrades. Able to plan and lead small to medium size projects, including coordination with other necessary groups. Works with others, provides feedback and guidance to less experienced technologists. Knowledge of Disaster Recovery technology, process and procedure necessary to support the company and related infrastructure in the event of a disaster. Capable of creating necessary documentation to support recovery efforts. Advanced knowledge of infrastructure lifecycle and project life cycle principles. Advanced infrastructure knowledge in application hardware, operating systems and/or advanced knowledge of configuring systems, appliances or software in support of critical infrastructure to support the business mission. Advanced level knowledge in applicable scripting languages for the key focus area technologies supported.
A complete understanding of the Unisys UDS Tip environment, specifically batch and transaction scheduling and processing.
Extensive knowledge in DML Cobol programming.
Knowledge of RDMS Cobol programming.
Knowledge of RDMS and DMS data structures, including area, page, record, sets, chains, overflow structures.
A complete understanding of DBE, a processor we use to evaluate the current database.
The ability to use OSAM to determine problems with specific transactions and/or batch programs.
Knowledge of the Unisys console keyins and logview.
Exceptional skills in problem solving, utilizing all of the above, to resolve problems in an expedient manner and reduce any impact on the LCLS system.
A complete understanding of ECL
An understanding of SSG.
A complete understanding of Uniaccess.
A complete understanding of Siteline.
Knowledge of SIP performance and running I/Otraces.
» Effective communication skills with all internal personnel and appropriately engaging vendor resources.
Expected to participate in on-call support.
License/Certification/Education: Normally requires a B.S. Degree in Computer Science with minimum of 5-7 years of experience in related field.
