Laboratory Corporation of America IT Sr. Technical Specialist in Burlington, North Carolina

LabCorp is seeking a IT Sr. Technical Specialist for it's Burlington, NC location. This position will be responsible for preparing detailed specifications from which computer programs will be written. Develop laboratory information systems designs. Develop, code, test, debug, and document programs. Analyze, review, and alter programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt new requirements. Manage and supervise development efforts. Develop technical design documentation using appropriate tools. Take initiative to learn existing applications by code review and data analysis Provide on call support for production systems. Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives. Provide ongoing application support and participate in development efforts.

Requirements

License/Certification/Education: Normally requires a B.S. Degree in Computer Science with 10 years of experience in related field.

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Developer. Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Developer in lieu of a Master's degree plus three (3) years of experience. The position also requires the following skills: Three (3) years of experience building Java or .NET solutions; two (2) years of experience integrating locally-developed and off-the-shelf components into a coherent product, adhering to a defined and repeatable systems life cycle; and one (1) year of experience in each of the following: Laboratory information systems design; VB .NET, Visual Studio 2010, and C# .NET; Windows Services; J2EE and JAVA; WebLogic Server; Web services; Application Server; Troubleshooting enterprise level production application systems; Object Oriented design and analysis; IBM WebSphere MQ; XML; ADO.NET/ODBC.NET; and MS SQL Server/Oracle, and Oracle.
