The Day Shift Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for: Testing samples and reporting results in a timely fashion; Monitoring and responding to all client concerns; Managing and assisting with laboratory QC including equipment calibration; Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures manuals for all QA functions as necessary; Monitoring and evaluating established protocols and recommend changes as needed; Completing monthly Safety talks for 100% compliance and competency monitoring; Monitoring and documenting annual safety training and current licenses for all personnel; Complying with all other company policies and procedures; Maintaining laboratory stock levels; Keeping laboratory clean and organized. Responsible for all QA, equipment maintenance, and CAP/CLIA requirements. Supervises employees in the Flow wet-lab and analyst are with responsibility for assistance in hiring and training staff to meet and maintain performance and customer service levels per departmental guidelines; scheduling shifts and rotations; managing and tracking overtime; responding to and resolving performance staff deficiencies and policy violations; completing payroll in a timely manner; holding departmental meetings.
Requires a B.S. Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Sciences with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
A Tennessee Supervisors license or eligibility is required within 6 months of hire date.
Must be able to pass standardized color vision test.
Must meet all State and Local licensing requirements where the laboratory is located and must meet CLIA requirements.
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for biohazards and chemicals, as well as quality control procedures and regulations; Strong quantitative skills; Proven attention to detail with effective organizational skills; Proven problem solving and trouble shooting skills; Strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing; Effective interpersonal and team skills, and exceptional customer service skills.
